This policy explains what information Cove Gallery & Boutique collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email findyourcove@gmail.com and we will answer.

Who we are

We are the controller of the information described below.

What we collect, and when

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical information about how the site is used. We do not ask for payment details anywhere on this website.

When you contact us. Your name, email address, subject and message.

When you join The Inner Cove. Your first name, email address, mobile number, and a record that you agreed to receive text messages.

When you enter a giveaway. Your first name, email address, an optional mobile number, a record of whether you agreed to receive text messages about that giveaway, and which optional bonus actions you told us you completed.

When you apply to show your work as an artist. Your name, email address, phone number, the medium you work in, a description of your work, and any sample images you upload.

When you submit an event. Your name, email address, the details of the event, and any image you upload.

When you request a commission. Your name, email address, phone number, business name if you give one, your budget range if you choose one, and your description of the project.

When you request a return or exchange. Your name, email address, order number, the reason for the request, and any photographs you upload.

When you simply browse. We keep a basic record of pages viewed. That record contains the page address, the address of the page you arrived from, your browser's user agent string, and a randomly generated session identifier that your browser discards when you close the tab. We use this only to understand which pages are useful. It is stored on our own systems and is not shared with an advertising network.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We will not sell, rent or share your mobile number, or your consent to receive text messages, with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

We do not use third party advertising or analytics trackers on this website, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores a small amount of information in your browser to make the site work, including a session identifier that is cleared when you close the tab, and a record of progress if you take part in the shark tooth hunt. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.

Two parts of the site load content from other companies, and those companies may set their own cookies or receive your IP address when that content loads. They are the embedded maps on our contact, visit and upstairs pages, provided by Google, and the map on our neighbours directory, which uses map images from OpenStreetMap. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with that information.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and tick the consent box, we may send you text messages. For The Inner Cove that is a members only offer, sent about once a month. For a giveaway it is a message about that giveaway, including telling you if you have won.

Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of entering a giveaway, of buying anything, or of using this website.

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help, or email findyourcove@gmail.com. We keep a record of your consent, and of any withdrawal of it, so that we can honour your choice.

Email

If you give us your email address through one of the forms above, we will use it to reply to you and, where you have asked for it, to send you news from the gallery. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing findyourcove@gmail.com.

Who else sees your information

We use a small number of service providers to run this website. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

• Our website hosting and database provider, which stores the information submitted through the forms above.
• Our email delivery provider, which sends the notifications and confirmations described in this policy.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Our online shop is a separate service at ilovecove.com, operated on the Square platform. Anything you enter there, including payment details, is handled under that service's own privacy policy and not under this one. We never see or store your card details.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send us for as long as we need it for the purpose you sent it, and then for as long as we reasonably need to keep records. Giveaway entries are kept until the giveaway has been drawn, the prize has been delivered, and any period for questions about the result has passed. If you ask us to delete your information we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. You can withdraw consent to marketing emails or text messages at any time, and doing so will not affect anything else, including your entry in a giveaway.

To make any of these requests, email findyourcove@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm who you are first.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law. If you believe we have not handled your information properly, please tell us first so we have the chance to put it right.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Our giveaways are open only to entrants aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has given us information, email findyourcove@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us, including access controls on our database so that form submissions can only be read by the gallery. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the change is significant we will say so on the website.
