An Artist's Modern Day Hope: A Poem

"while it is so easy as an artist to fear AI & technology growing faster than a human skill ever could

I often remind myself of who is absorbing the technology & what they are like

humans never satisfied one desire met another begins to burn

the world may now be enamored by AI all of its possibilities it will help & it will hurt both things will be true

& then those humans will ache for the natural the authentic the handmade, the handwritten hand carved, hand potted, hand cooked

an ache to want to know the voice they hear recognize the lines in the hands on the screen to say, that’s the dress she wore to my party! not, I wonder if she used AI to edit that?

& they will seek us out once more like they never have before

take heart, dear artists we are not done yet."
